What Can I Put On My Lawn Tractor To Remove A Well Established Lawn?

Submitted by on July 4, 2009 – 6:22 am2 Comments

I have a mature well established lawn. I need to remove and till a section about 4' X 8' for a garden. I already have a lawn tractor. What can I use with it to make easy work of this chore?

Some tractors have a rototiller attachment, try to contact the place where you bought it. It may cost you more than you expect. You can also buy a small tiller to work by hand, but for such a small garden I would just use a shovel.

I agree with the other answer. For an area that small I would first spray it with weed killer or Roundup and let the grass die. Then I would borrow or rent a rototiller as you will only need it very seldom. Then work by hand. It will save you money. Good luck.
